The Orioles have been swept in a three-game series this year - by Toronto - but they don't have a three-game sweep to call their own.
They can get one tonight at Camden Yards in the finale of a three-game series with Boston, where they have won the first two games by 1-0 and 5-2 scores.
The Orioles' last three-game home sweep against Boston took place from Sept. 28-30, 2012.
The Orioles are 6-3 this season versus the Red Sox, including 4-1 at home. They've pitched well against Boston with an ERA of 2.87 and have outscored the Sox 49-34.
Since last year, the Orioles are 17-11 against Boston and since July 19, 2011 they are 46-27 (.630).
The Orioles have won three in a row and are looking for a season-high four-game streak tonight and a win would make them 6-1 over the last seven games.
The O's have pitched well during this recent run. Over the last seven games they've allowed 14 runs with a team ERA of 2.07 and a starters' ERA of 2.56.
Wei-Yin Chen posted his first win at Oriole Park since Sept. 15, 2014 last night and snapped a streak of five consecutive starts in which he surrendered at least one home run. Chen is now 4-1 with a 1.98 ERA over his last six starts against Boston since April 21, 2014.
Darren O'Day recorded his longest career save in terms of innings pitched, going two frames and his four strikeouts matched the most by an Oriole reliever this season. Over his last 21 outings, O'Day is 2-0 with two saves and a 0.90 ERA (20.0IP, 2ER).
The Orioles bullpen has been brilliant in this series. Over 8 2/3 innings, the 'pen pitchers have allowed no runs and one hit with 10 strikeouts. Boston batters have gone 1-for-26 (.038) against the bullpen the last two nights.
Tonight Chris Tillman (3-7, 5.61 ERA) pitches against left-hander Wade Miley (5-5, 4.67).
Tillman may be showing signs of turning around his season. He has allowed two runs or less in three of his last four starts and Friday at Cleveland allowed two runs over 6 1/3 innings.
He gave up one run in 5 1/3 April 18 versus the Red Sox and has good career numbers against Boston at 8-3 with an ERA of 2.63.
Miley got hit for seven runs in 2 1/3 April 26 at Camden Yards and is 0-1 with a 9.64 ERA in two career starts against Baltimore.
Note to readers: I am in Bowie covering the game tonight and will write a blog or two on Kevin Gausman's outing. But stay here for your in-game Orioles comments.
