Opening day ceremonies will include Ravens video tribute, but no Ravens (updated)

We're about 5 1/2 hours from first pitch in the Orioles' home opener against the Minnesota Twins at Camden Yards, where the sun is shining and the forecast calling for a 100 percent chance of rain apparently was sent to extended spring training to work out the kinks. The Orioles haven't revealed their plans for the ceremonial first pitch. They will honor Hall of Fame manager Earl Weaver, who passed away on Jan. 19, and it's expected that they will weave that tribute into the first pitch. It figures to be a highly emotional moment. Weaver's No. 4 is painted in an orange circle in front of the home dugout, just as the Orioles did at Ed Smith Stadium. Also, I've heard rumblings that the pregame ceremony will include a video tribute to the Ravens, who won their second Super Bowl in February. However, I've also heard that the Orioles extended invitations to some members of the organization that were declined. The Orioles apparently reached out to general manager Ozzie Newsome, head coach John Harbaugh and quarterback Joe Flacco, among others, but they were unavailable. No one from the Orioles is commenting on the situation or specifics of the pregame ceremonies. Did I mention that the sun is shining? Brightly, I might add. And the temperature is rising. Sure feels like opening day baseball weather to me. Update: The Orioles have a locker set up for infielder Yamaico Navarro, an indication that Brian Roberts may be headed for the 15-day disabled list. Wilson Betemit could be moved to the 60-day disabled list to free up a spot on the 40-man roster for Navarro. Navarro walked into the clubhouse shortly after 11 a.m.
