Orioles and Braves lineups

Ryan Mountcastle is making his first major league start at first base tonight as the Orioles continue their series against the Braves at Camden Yards.

Mountcastle has been working out at first and played the position in the minors before the Orioles shifted him to left field during the 2019 season at Triple-A Norfolk.

Austin Hays remains in left field and is batting ninth.

Hanser Alberto returns to the lineup at second base. José Iglesias remains the No. 2 hitter.

DJ Stewart is batting third and playing right field.

In 11 games since being recalled on Sept. 1, Stewart is batting .371 (13-for-35) with one double, seven home runs, 12 RBIs, 11 runs, five walks, and two hit-by-pitches.

Pat Valaika has registered a .300 average (12-for-40) with five extra-base hits in 13 games this month. He's on the bench tonight.

Thomas Eshelman is making his fourth start and 10th appearance of the season. He's 3-0 with a 3.96 ERA and 1.080 WHIP in 25 innings.

Eshelman has never faced the Braves.

Braves right-hander Huascar Ynoa is making his fourth start of the season and his career. He's made seven appearances overall and allowed 11 runs and 16 hits with 12 walks and 11 strikeouts in 14 2/3 innings.

Ynoa, 22, hasn't thrown more than three innings and 61 pitches in any game this season, so the Orioles should get a long look at Atlanta's bullpen.

According to the Elias Sports Bureau, last night's 14-1 win marked the second-largest margin of victory in Orioles history that ended a losing streak of five or more games. The only larger margin occurred when the 1967 Orioles defeated the Yankees 14-0 to end a six-game skid.

According to STATS, the Orioles became the first team in American League history to score one run or none in four-straight games and tally at least 14 runs in its next game.

Huascar Ynoa RHP

The Orioles are celebrating the 50th anniversary of their 1970 World Series title on Friday, with Boog Powell throwing out the pre-recorded ceremonial first pitch, which was filmed at his alma mater of Key West High School in Key West, Fla.

Powell will join Brooks Robinson, Jim Palmer and Don Buford in a roundtable discussion at 6 p.m. streamed on the team's YouTube channel. Palmer will join the MASN and Orioles Radio Network game broadcasts to reflect on the championship, and special digital anniversary and World Series trophy logos will be displayed throughout the ballpark and on MASN for fans at home.

Orioles players and coaches will wear a commemorative 1970 World Series patch on their right sleeve during the game.

Also as part of the celebration, the Orioles will auction items signed by members of the 1970 World Series team. Items include autographed baseballs from Robinson, Palmer, Powell and Buford. The auction, which benefits the Oriole Advocates Charitable Foundation, will run through the weekend, with bidding closing on Sunday at 10 p.m.
