Orioles and Braves lineups (updated)

Matt Harvey is on the mound tonight trying to snap the Orioles' 16-game losing streak that's the second-longest in club history.

Harvey is 6-12 with 6.25 ERA and 1.546 WHIP in 24 starts. He's allowed 10 runs and 16 hits this month in three starts over 13 2/3 innings.

Tonight marks Harvey's 15th career appearance and 14th start against the Braves. He owns a 4.94 ERA and 1.366 WHIP in 78 1/3 innings.

Ryan Mountcastle, batting second and playing first base, has a 12-game hitting streak.

Jorge Mateo has an 11-game hitting streak, but he's on the bench tonight. Ramón Urías is the second baseman and Richie Martin is the shortstop.

The Orioles have lost by two runs or more in 16 straight games, the longest streak by any team since the 1876 Cincinnati Red Stockings (18), according to STATS. They're the first American League team to lose 16 straight since the Mariners dropped 17 in a row in 2011.

They've been outscored 141-42 during the streak and are in danger of matching the Diamondbacks for losing skid of the season at 17 games.

"We end the game every night, and everybody is upset," said outfielder Austin Hays. "There's no music in the clubhouse. Everybody's just mad because we're losing games. It's a very tough atmosphere, but I think we're doing as good a job as you can do coming in the next day with a positive mindset."

Left-hander Drew Smyly has made 21 starts with the Braves and gone 8-3 with a 4.50 ERA and 1.377 WHIP in 106 innings. He's worked four innings in four of his last five outings.

Smyly has a 4.70 ERA and 1.219 WHIP in 11 career games against the Orioles.

Marcell Ozuna is 10-for-29 against Harvey, but he hasn't played since May due to two fractured fingers on his left hand.

Freddie Freeman is 7-for-32 with four doubles and a home run. Dansby Swanson is 2-for-13 and Adam Duvall is 1-for-11.

Manager Brandon Hyde told the media that Jorge López is moving to the bullpen. No word on who starts in his place against the Angels at Camden Yards.

The Orioles have the hardest remaining strength of schedule in the American League (.534), according to FanGraphs.com, and the second-hardest in the majors behind the Padres (.544).

This is my last post of the day. Be back early Sunday.

Update: New pitcher Chris Ellis has reported to the club. He's a candidate to move into the rotation.
