Orioles and White Sox lineups (plus notes and injury updates)

Austin Hays is in left field tonight to open the final series before the break, Anthony Santander is in right and Kelvin Gutierrez is making his first start for the Orioles at third base.

Pedro Severino is catching for tonight's game against the White Sox. Austin Wynns is taking ground balls at first during batting practice.

Jorge López is making his fifth career appearance and fourth start against the White Sox. He's allowed 13 earned runs (14 total) and 27 hits with 25 strikeouts in 21 1/3 innings.

Yoán Moncada is 6-for-11 with a double, two home runs and five strikeouts against him. Leury García is 4-for-8 with a home run and José Abreu is 3-for-8 with two home runs.

Left-hander Dallas Keuchel has a 4.48 ERA and 1.395 WHIP in 17 games. He faced the Orioles in the opening game of a May 29 doubleheader and surrendered four runs and eight hits in five innings.

Freddy Galvis hit two home runs off Keuchel and Maikel Franco hit one, but they're on the injured list.

Keuchel is 4-2 with a 3.23 ERA, 1.245 WHIP and one complete game in nine career starts against the Orioles.

The White Sox are in first place in the American League Central with a 51-35 record. They're 31-14 at home, but 20-21 on the road.

They swept a four-game series against the Orioles May 27-30 in Chicago, allowing only one run in three of those games. Liam Hendriks earned three saves, including both ends of the doubleheader.

Some minor league health updates from executive vice president/general manager Mike Elias:

Infielder Richie Martin began a hitting progression today and should come off the injured list by the end of July or early August. Left-hander DL Hall will resume throwing in two weeks and likely pitch again this season. Infielder Joey Ortiz will undergo surgery in the next few days to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder and should be fully recovered next spring.

Infielder Terrin Vavra, who's been out with back soreness, should get back in Double-A Bowie's lineup by mid-August. Infielder Anthony Servideo will begin playing in rehab games next week in Sarasota, Fla., and should return to Single-A Delmarva about a week after that date. Pitcher Carter Baumler's recovery from Tommy John surgery is going well and he should be full-go next spring.

Dr. Nilo Azad, Trey Mancini's oncologist from Johns Hopkins Hospital, will throw out the ceremonial first pitch to him before tonight's game.
