Orioles bats break out and O's win series finale 10-7

After the offense was shut down by Tampa Bay pitching in the first two games of this series, the Orioles made sure that didn't happen for a third straight day. And they did so against a pitcher in Matt Moore, who was 8-1 with a 2.95 ERA. Held to one run on six hits with just one extra-base hit for two games, the Orioles scored eight runs over the first three innings this afternoon in a 10-7 win over Tampa Bay. The Orioles are 35-28, now 14-14 against the AL East, and went 3-3 on this road trip. The Orioles scored two runs in the first and three in the second and third innings. They had five doubles in the first two innings. They had seven doubles in the game to tie a season-high set May 10 vs. Minnesota. Moore allowed a career high nine runs (eight earned) on 12 hits over five innings. He had given up six runs in two innings in his last start against Detroit. J.J. Hardy went 3-for-5 with two doubles and two RBIs. Adam Jones went 3-for-5 and drove in two. Jim Johnson got the last out of the game after allowing an inherited runner to score to record his 21st save. The Orioles now return home to start a seven-game homestand Monday against the Los Angeles Angels with Freddy Garcia (2-3, 4.70 ERA) pitching against Jered Weaver (1-1, 3.13 ERA).
