Chris Davis is back in the Orioles' lineup for Game 1 of today's doubleheader against the Twins.
Davis was excluded for the three-game series against the Rays due to illness. He would have played last night except for the postponement.
Cedric Mullins wasn't in the posted lineup last night, but he's now starting in center field and likely will sit for Game 2 with left-hander MartÃn Pérez on the mound.
Jonathan Villar is starting at shortstop and Hanser Alberto at second base. Trey Mancini is playing right field. Pedro Severino is catching.
The Orioles are 170-143-291 in doubleheaders since the franchise moved to Baltimore in 1954. They're 103-67-169 at home.
The records don't include May 19, 1957 and April 22, 1961 because one of the games ended in a tie.
The Orioles have allowed home runs in 19 of their 20 games, and their 46 homers surrendered lead the majors. The 1996 Tigers hold the record for most home runs allowed through April with 50.
Asked earlier this week whether that's the direction baseball is going, manager Brandon Hyde chuckled and said, "We're leading the direction right now. Not the place I want to be leading."
"For us, it's executing," he said. "We haven't developed yet in ways to execute pitches in leverage counts, and a lot of our home runs are with two strikes. A lot of our damage is done when we have the advantage, and we'll continue to get better and continue to develop.
"It's confidence and it's executing and it's understanding how to pitch not just to one side of the plate. A lot of different factors that our guys just haven't had a ton of experience and/or success here in the big leagues understanding how to kind of get through that. That's what I see. It's just mistimed pitches in bad spots that are going in the seats, so it's just something we need to get a lot better at."
