Orioles hold annual fan appreciation celebration during final series, Sept. 26-28

As a "thank you" to fans for their support throughout the 2011 season, the Orioles will hold their annual Fan Appreciation Celebration during their last series of the season when they host the Boston Red Sox for three games, Monday, Sept. 26 through Wednesday, Sept. 28 at Oriole Park . The three day celebration includes opportunities for fans to be randomly chosen to win prizes by "liking" the Orioles on Facebook or visiting www.orioles.com and then entering the Orioles Fan Appreciation Celebration Sweepstakes. Prizes include a trip for two to Spring Training in Sarasota , Fla.; a spot in the Orioles Dream Week in Sarasota; VIP experiences at the ballpark in 2012; Orioles memorabilia and more. Throughout the series, fans will be selected at random to win unique Orioles experiences including on-field visits, Fan of the Game contests, the popular "Shirts Off Our Backs" promotion, the chance to take the field with Orioles players for the National anthem and more. Fans are encouraged to wear Orioles clothing and arrive at the ballpark early each day. A complete list of Fan Appreciation Celebration activities, events and prizes is listed below. Orioles fan appreciation celebration sweepstakes Fans can log on to www.orioles.com or "like us" on Facebook to enter to win a variety of prizes. There will be three Grand Prize winners selected and they will receive one of the following: * A three-day, two-night trip for two to Spring Training in Sarasota, Fla., including airfare, hotel accommodations and game tickets. * A spot in the new Orioles Dream Week in Sarasota, Fla., including airfare, hotel accommodations and all fantasy camp-style experiences. * A VIP ultimate experience for 10 people at Oriole Park at Camden Yards in 2012, including a catered suite, on-field batting practice visit and the chance to throw out the ceremonial first pitch. Six runner-up winners will also be selected to win an autographed Orioles memorabilia package. All Grand Prize and Runner-up winners will also receive four tickets to one of the games in the final series, Sept. 26-28. Winners will be randomly chosen at the conclusion of the sweepstakes entry period Wednesday, Sept. 21 at 11 p.m. Fans take the field for the National Anthem During each game of the series, nine fans will be randomly selected to take the field and stand with an Orioles player during the National Anthem. First pitch One randomly selected fan will be chosen for a chance to throw out the ceremonial first pitch during the final two games of the series. Shirts off our backs promotion Fans will also be chosen at random to receive the Shirts off our Backs, as the players will autograph their game-worn jerseys and send them to the chosen fans. Tribute to the fans All Orioles staff will be wearing "Thank You Fans" shirts and/or buttons, and a video tribute to our fans will be played each game on the centerfield video board. The video will also be available at www.orioles.com for fans to view. Orioles team store The Orioles team store will offer a 30 percent discount on select merchandise during the three-day Fan Appreciation Celebration. Fan of the game During each game of the series, the fan that is chose as 'Fan of the Game' before the bottom of the fifth inning on the Orioles centerfield video board will receive an "Ultimate Orioles Prize Pack," featuring a pair of 2012 opening day tickets, a pregame on-field visit during batting practice, Orioles autographed memorabilia, Orioles promotional items and $100 worth of gas courtesy of Gulf. Orioles players around the ballpark On Tuesday and Wednesday, fans should keep an eye out for Orioles players who will be making appearances throughout the ballpark and interacting with fans in various ways.
