You want lineup changes? You've got them. Yamaico Navarro is making his first start for the Orioles at second base tonight, as they begin a three-game series against the Rays at Camden Yards. Gonzalez didn't wear a bandage on his right thumb, and he threw his breaking ball. No problems at all. Gonzalez played catch in the outfield and threw 25 pitches in the bullpen. He could start Tuesday night against the New York Yankees at Camden Yards. According to STATS, Machado's 18 multi-hit games through May 16 are the most by a player under 21 years old in the live-ball era (since 1921). Ken Griffey Jr. had 17 for Seattle in 1990 and Justin Upton had 14 for Arizona in 2008. Machado is tied with Miguel Cabrera for the most hits in the majors (59), is second to Mike Napoli with 17 doubles and is tied for second behind Alex Gordon with 18 multi-hit games. Over his last 21 games, Machado has 13 multi-hit games and is batting .419 (39-for-93) with 12 doubles, a triple, three homers and 13 RBIs. During his current five-game hitting streak, Machado is batting .560 (14-for-25) with five doubles, two RBIs and five runs scored. He has three or more hits in four of those five games. Machado leads the majors in batting average by a right-handed batter against right-handed pitching at .368 (46-for-125). With a win tonight, Hammel would become the first Oriole to go 6-1 or better to start consecutive seasons since Mike Boddicker went 6-1 to start 1985 and 10-1 to start the 1986 season. Hammel began the 2012 season with a 6-1 mark. Since breaking into the majors in 2009, Wieters' .342 average against the Rays is the fifth-best behind Victor Martinez (.369), Howie Kendrick (.364), Torii Hunter (.355) and Melky Cabrera (.343). The Orioles have scored 37 runs in six games (6.2 per game) against the Rays after scoring 56 in 18 games (3.1 per game) in 2012.
