Orioles lineup vs. Mets (updated)

Matt Harvey is back on the Citi Field mound this afternoon as the Orioles try to split their two-game series against the Mets and return home.

Harvey hasn't pitched in New York since May 2018. The defense behind him includes Rio Ruiz at second base, Ryan Mountcastle in left field and Austin Hays in right.

From 2012-15, Harvey posted a 2.05 ERA in 35 starts at Citi Field and 27 were quality by definition.

The Orioles have registered a 3.11 ERA in 18 road games, the lowest in the American League and second overall to the Brewers (3.05).

The club owns a plus-15 run differential on the road and a minus-29 run differential at home.

Mets right-hander Taijuan Walker has a 2.38 ERA and 1.029 WHIP in six starts. He's allowed only one home run in 34 innings.

In his last start, Walker held the Cardinals to an unearned run and one hit over seven innings with no walks and eight strikeouts. So he's coming in hot.

Walker has made six starts against the Orioles and posted a 3.00 ERA and 1.167 WHIP in 30 innings.

The Orioles announced that they've reached the threshold of 85 percent or more Tier 1 and Tier 2 individuals being fully vaccinated and will have the relaxed protocols applied.

"We're very excited to reach that number and today's our day," manager Brandon Hyde said in his Zoom call. "We're very proud as an organization. It just feels so good from top to bottom how a lot of people have put a lot of work into this and it's a good day to be, May 12, our 85 percent day.

"There's still some protocols that we're following. There's some things that we're now allowed to do, which is, we don't have to wear masks in the dugout, in the weight room if we're around people who are vaccinated we don't have to wear masks, we still have to wear masks in the clubhouse. There's still some policies we're going to follow. It's just loosened a little bit."

Hyde said Anthony Santander (ankle) and Hunter Harvey (oblique) are working out in Sarasota, Fla. Santander is running the bases. Harvey is throwing and on the verge of pitching in simulated games.

"They're both doing very well and right on track," Hyde said.
