Orioles lineup vs. White Sox and notes on Webb, Coulombe and Wall

Anthony Santander is in right field tonight and Coby Mayo stays on the bench as the Orioles continue their series against the White Sox at Camden Yards.

Gunnar Henderson hit his 34^th home run yesterday to tie Cal Ripken Jr. (1991) and Miguel Tejada (2004) for most by an Orioles shortstop in a season. He produced the team’s 12^th leadoff homer to tie the record set in 1996.

Austin Slater is batting .295/.404/.432 (13-for-44) since joining the Orioles, but he’s on the bench tonight. Colton Cowser is in left field and Cedric Mullins is in center.

Rookie Cade Povich is making his 12^th major league start and trying to lower a 6.58 ERA and 1.731 WHIP accumulated over 52 innings. Povich has allowed 10 runs and 18 hits in his last two starts over 8 1/3 innings.

A win tonight would give the Orioles three in a row for the first time since July 14-20 and the first on three consecutive days since a four-game streak from June 26-29. They’re 80-59 and remain a half-game behind the Yankees in the division.

Every Orioles starter collected a hit and scored a run yesterday for the first time since Aug. 25, 2017 in Boston, and the first time at home since Aug. 26, 2011 against the Yankees.

Rookie right-hander Nick Nastrini is 0-6 with a 7.04 ERA and 1.728 WHIP in seven starts with the White Sox. He’s walked 26 batters and struck out 22 in 30 2/3 innings.

Nastrini’s only start in the second half was Aug. 29, when he held the Rangers to one run and three hits in six innings.

The White Sox (31-108) have lost 11 in a row, their third streak this season of at least that many games, and 41 of 45. They are 0-5 against the Orioles this season and 8-19 against the American League East.

Reliever Jacob Webb will make his second injury rehab appearance Wednesday with Triple-A Norfolk.

Left-hander Danny Coulombe faced hitters this afternoon for the first time since his surgery to remove bone chips from his elbow.

Outfielder Forrest Wall cleared waivers and was outrighted to Norfolk.
