Orioles' minor league break-camp rosters

Here are the break-camp rosters for the Orioles' four full-season minor league affiliates, which begin play Thursday.

As usual, these rosters are not final for opening day and changes could occur over the next few days. The roster limit for each of those teams is 25 players.

TRIPLE-A NORFOLK:

Pitchers: Pedro Beato, Michael Bowden, Zach Davies, Oliver Drake, Eddie Gamboa, Steve Johnson, Chris Jones, Pat McCoy, Daniel Rodriguez, Chaz Roe, Tyler Wilson, Mike Wright.

Catchers: J.P. Arencibia, Audry Perez, Brian Ward.

Infielders: Michael Almanzar, Paul Janish, Rey Navarro, Jayson Nix, Chris Parmalee, Christian Walker.

Outfielders: Dariel Alvarez, Julio Borbon, Henry Urrutia.

Norfolk notes: Wilson, Wright, Davies and Gamboa are slated to be in the rotation. For Davies, who is starting today for the Orioles against Atlanta, this is his Triple-A debut. It must be exciting for the Orioles to have four home-grown pitchers, all with promise, in this rotation. The bullpen is filled with pitchers that all could help Baltimore at some point. Beato returns to the organzation for the first time since 2010. All three outfielders could make it to Baltimore this year. Walker looks to follow up his 26-homer 2014 season.

DOUBLE-A BOWIE:

Pitchers: Tim Berry, Parker Bridwell, Bobby Bundy, Dylan Bundy, Cesar Cabral, Terry Doyle, Gene Escat, Mychal Givens, Matt Hobgood, Ken Kasparek, Branden Kline, Marcel Prado, Ashur Tolliver, Elih Villanueva.

Catchers: David Freitas, Rossmel Perez, Steel Russell.

Infielders: Jason Esposito, Sean Halton, Derrik Gibson, Ozzie Martinez, Mike McDade, Garabez Rosa, Sharlon Schoop.

Outfielders: Michael Burgess, Glynn Davis, Quincy Latimore, Mike Yastrzemski.

Bowie notes: The Bundy brothers will play together in the O's minors for the first time. Dylan has been limited to two-inning outings at spring training and his innings will be limited in his early starts (think three-inning outings). Hobgood and Bridwell are making their Double-A debuts. A rotation that includes Dylan Bundy, Bridwell, Kline and Berry should be a good one. Villanueva is expected to pitch as a starter. Esposito debuts at this level, moving up from Frederick while Davis, Burgess and Yastrzemski should make for a solid outfield.

SINGLE-A FREDERICK:

Pitchers: Luis Gonzalez, David Hess, Mitch Horacek, Jon Keller, Williams Louico, Jarrett Miller, Ronan Pacheco, Dylan Rheault, Dennis Torres, Austin Urban, Sebastian Vader, Brady Wager, Jimmy Yacabonis.

Catchers: Chance Sisco, Austin Wynns.

Infielders: Anthony Caronia, Drew Dosch, Jeff Kemp, Trey Mancini, Adrian Marin, Tucker Nathans.

Outfielders: Josh Hart, Greg Lorenzo, Johnny Ruettiger, Brenden Webb.

Frederick notes: The rotation looks to include Horacek, Gonzalez, Vader, Hess and Miller. Sisco, Hart and Dosch debut in the Carolina League, while Marin and Mancini look to build on 2014 and perhaps get a Double-A shot at some point this summer.

SINGLE-A DELMARVA:

Pitchers: Derrick Bleeker, Tanner Chleborad, Garrett Cortright, Stefan Crichton, Nick Cunningham, Dariel Delgado, Brian Gonzalez, Matthew Grimes, Donnie Hart, Zeke McGranahan, John Means, Nik Nowottnick, Bennett Parry, Matt Trowbridge.

Catchers: Jonah Heim, Alex Murphy, Tanner Murphy.

Infielders: Jared Breen, Cam Kneeland, Ronarsy Ledesma, Riley Palmer, Jomar Reyes, Logan Uxa, Stephen Wilkerson.

Outfielders: Conor Bierfeldt, Jay Gonzalez, Elier Leyva, Jamill Moquete.

Delmarva notes: The rotation should include Means, Chleborad, Gonzalez, Parry and Grimes. Taken in round three last year, Gonzalez was the O's top draft pick. Reyes will make his South Atlantic League and full-season debut at 18. Leyva was signed out of Cuba and makes his O's debut at age 24. If he plays well here, he could certainly move up to Frederick. Heim, Murphy and Murphy make for a solid group of catchers.

Three players on these rosters were acquired by the Orioles during spring training.

Norfolk catcher Audry Perez was acquired from the Rockies for cash considerations. Perez, 26, appeared in three major league games with the Cardinals over the past two seasons and has two plate appearances. The Rockies signed him in November as a minor league free agent and he was 1-for-11 this spring.

Norfolk right-handed reliever Michael Bowden was acquired by the Orioles from Cincinnati for cash considerations. The 28-year-old right-hander was the 47th overall selection by the Red Sox in the 2005 draft. He has pitched in the majors with Boston and the Chicago Cubs, going 3-5 with an ERA of 4.51 in 103 games. He pitched in Japan last year, going 2-1 with a 4.50 ERA in 36 games.

Frederick starter Jarrett Miller was signed by the Orioles after he was released by Atlanta. The 25-year-old right-hander was drafted by the Braves in round 21 in 2011. Last year, he pitched as a starter in the Carolina League for Lynchburg, going 8-9 with a 4.04 ERA in 28 starts.

Among the players on the Baseball America Orioles top 30 prospects list Frederick has seven on its roster, while Norfolk and Frederick feature six, and Delmarva has three.

Eight players on that top 30 have been hurt, traded, lost on waivers, have yet to report, didn't make a roster or are still with Baltimore. That list includes Hunter Harvey (2), Pat Connaughton (11), Steven Brault (16), Jason Garcia (17), Stephen Tarpley (18), Michael Ohlman (19), Logan Verrett (24), Ofelky Peralta (29).

These four Orioles affiliates all have season openers scheduled for Thursday, April 9, with Norfolk at Charlotte, Bowie at Richmond, Frederick hosting Winston-Salem and Delmarva hosting Greensboro.

As these players head north, extended spring training workouts and games are about to start at Ed Smith Stadium in Sarasota, Fla. The workouts for about 60 players being there on Monday and extended spring games begin April 13.
