Orioles rally in 8th to take lead (updated twice)

I guess Luke Scott's shoulder isn't bothering him too much. Scott has two hits tonight, including a single off Mariners reliever Jamey Wright in the eighth inning that tied the game, 4-4. Pinch-runner Cesar Izturis raced home on Adam Jones' single, the center fielder's third RBI of the night. Orioles 5, Mariners 4. Derrek Lee walked and Vladimir Guerrero collected his third single of the night. Scott fell behind, 0-2, before grounding a single into left field. Third base coach John Russell took a chance by sending Lee with no outs, but it was the right decision. Lee scored easily to tie the game. Jones squared to bunt on the first offering from Wright, then singled up the middle - making him the fourth straight batter to reach against Wright before the right-hander recorded an out. The Orioles couldn't tack on another run, which might come back to haunt them as Kevin Gregg enters the game. Matt Wieters flied out and Mark Reynolds grounded into a double play. Instant update: Justin Smoak's two-out bloop single into left field has tied the game. That's a blown save for Gregg. Update II: J.J. Hardy led off the bottom of the ninth with a walk against Mariners left-hander Aaron Laffey, and Brian Roberts laid down a nice sacrifice bunt. Nick Markakis followed with a single into left field, but Hardy was an easy out at the plate. He glanced twice at the left fielder, for whatever reason, and didn't kick into another gear until rounding third base. We can debate whether third base coach John Russell should have sent him with one out. Derrek Lee was walked intentionally with Cesar Izturis on deck. Jake Fox pinch-hit for Izturis and popped up. Free baseball!
