Postseason baseball at Camden Yards is loud, and one of the loudest cheering sections for the American League Championship Series may just be Section 98.
Following the success of the OriolesREACH Knothole Gang in the American League Division Series, the Orioles will once again bring hundreds of children from various groups around the state to Camden Yards, allowing them to experience postseason baseball from their seats in section 98.
In its debut during the ALDS, the Knothole Gang allowed more than 1,400 children to experience the playoffs. Donning "We Won't Stop" Orioles shirts, munching on funnel cakes and cheering for the Orioles, the children were able to experience Orioles magic for themselves. And the O's are at it again!
Groups participating for the ALCS include:
* Boys & Girls Clubs of Annapolis & Anne Arundel County
* Boys & Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Baltimore
* Living Classrooms Foundation
* KidsPeace
* Y of Central Maryland
The Orioles also provide all participants with caps, food and drink, tickets, and transportation to and from games.
"The smiles on the children who attended the Division Series games last weekend and the feedback we received from participating groups about their ballpark experiences serve as a reminder as to the power of our great game of baseball," said Greg Bader, Orioles vice president of communications and marketing. "We thank those groups who are working with us to bring this unique experience to young people throughout our region who might not have had the opportunity to experience Major League Baseball in person. And we thank the generous fans who bid on ALDS tickets previously placed for auction, who helped to raise more than $13,000 for nine incredible organizations."
One lucky participant even caught a Nelson Cruz home run ball! Check out some pictures of the Knothole Gang below as we get ready for Game 1 of the ALCS!
