P-Nats lefty Rosenbaum fine-tuning fastball to start second half

Single-A Potomac Nationals left-handed pitcher Danny Rosenbaum concluded the first half of the season as the team leader in innings pitched (85) and continues to keep the opponents off the board with a 2.65 ERA and 62 strikeouts. But the team is working on fine-tuning his fastball as they embark on the second half of the season. Potomac Nationals pitching coach Paul Menhart said the former Xavier Musketeer needs to hit his spots with his best pitch. The coaching staff would love to get the walk total down (30). "(Rosenbaum) still has to command the fastball a little better," Menhart said. "His secondary pitches are alright." Rosenbaum started last season with Single-A Hagerstown and started 18 games, putting up an impressive 2.32 ERA. Then, finishing up in Woodbridge, he helped the P-Nats to the Mills Cup with a 3-2 record and a 2.19 ERA. Recently, Rosenbaum gave up nine hits and four runs, three earned, against Myrtle Beach. But his last two decisions have been victories, including a complete-game three-hit shutout at Wilmington June 4.
