Perfect execution (updated)

The Orioles just completed one of your typical 4-3-6-2 double plays. If you've seen one... Brad Bergesen walked the first two batters in the third, including stolen base machine Rajai Davis. Catcher Matt Wieters went to the mound - alone this time - to settle him down. Ryan Sweeney followed with a grounder to second baseman Julio Lugo, who wisely ran Daric Barton back toward first base before throwing there for the out. Ty Wigginton fired the ball to shortstop Cesar Izturis, who alertly spotted Davis breaking for home. Izturis threw to the plate, and Wieters made a sweeping tag on Davis for the second out. Lugo and Izturis congratulated each other as Oakland manager Bob Geren briefly argued the call. Replays seemed to show that Davis never touched the plate. Wieters didn't injure his shoulder and Bergesen didn't allow another run. Good stuff. Major props to Lugo for doing exactly as he should on that play. Down on the farm, Ryan Adams hit a two-run homer in the first inning to give Double-A Bowie a 2-0 lead, but Steve Johnson allowed two runs in the bottom half, and Bradley Coons hit a solo homer off him in the second to move Harrisburg in front, 3-2. Johnson walked three batters in the first, giving him 11 in his last three starts covering 12 2/3 innings. Update: The Orioles just tied the game, 2-2, in the bottom of the third. They loaded the bases with one out, Miguel Tejada grounded into a force at third as Izturis scampered home, and Matt Wieters punched a broken-bat single into center field to score Wigginton. Wieters had three RBIs in his last 18 games. Also, Caleb Joseph hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the third to give Bowie a 4-3 lead.
