The Orioles have collected just three extra-base hits - two doubles and a home run - over 36 innings in the four games of this current road trip. Mark-Reynolds_White-Running-Tall.gif In those four games, the Orioles have drawn 16 walks, but only two of those runners have scored. Mark Reynolds' home run yesterday was the first for the Orioles in 38 2/3 innings since the second inning of a May 26 game. Four of the Orioles' regulars have combined for nine doubles and no homers in their last 245 at-bats. Matt Wieters has three doubles in his last 87 at-bats, J.J. Hardy and Luke Scott each have three doubles in their last 51 at-bats, and Nick Markakis does not have an extra-base hit in his last 56 at-bats since May 15. During their four-game losing streak, the Orioles are batting .129 (4-for-31) with runners in scoring position and have left 28 runners on base. They've been outscored by nine runs in those four losses. Kevin Gregg has gone to a three-ball count to 31 of the 93 hitters (33 percent) he's faced this year. He's issued at least one walk in 12 of his 21 appearances. Of the 18 batters Gregg has walked, two were intentional and only three have come around to score. Trivia answer: Eddie Matthews, Ted Williams, Willie Mays and Ernie Banks hit 500 or more home runs and served in the military. I knew Williams right away, but that's it. I was pretty sure Sammy Sosa wasn't one of them.
