Road woes plague the O's

As they begin a 10-game road trip with a series at Toronto tonight, road woes still plague the O's. Consider: * The Orioles have lost nine straight road series since taking two of three at St. Pete against Tampa Bay from May 13-15. Since then, they are 5-21 and have lost their last seven road games. * The Orioles actually have a better road winning percentage this year in American League East games (6-10 for .375) then in road games overall (14-30 for .318). The Orioles have most of those AL East road wins against Tampa Bay, going 5-1 at the Trop this year and 1-9 everywhere else. * Let's not even talk about the Orioles in Toronto. OKI, for a sec anyway. They ended a 16-game losing streak there in their last game at Rogers Centre on June 16, but they are just 3-25 in the last 28 games there. Some other Orioles notes: * Derrek Lee gave the Birds a 2-0 lead in the top of the second tonight with a two-run double. Lee was just 2-for-20 this year batting against Toronto and entered this game batting just .157 on the year with runners in scoring position. * Adam Jones has an OPS of 1.074 in the second half. Over his last nine games he is batting .333 with two doubles, five homers and 11 RBIs. His next homer will be No. 19, matching his career high. * Nick Markakis is now one homer shy of 100 for his career and J.J Hardy now has 95 homers. * Koji Uehara is on an amazing roll. Over his last 11 games, he has pitched 13 shutout innings, allowing just three hits, with two walks to 20 strikeouts. Koji's ERA is 1.08 over his last 30 games since May 8. Orioles' leading hitters in 2011 vs. Toronto: .400 - J.J Hardy at 10-for-25 with two home runs and five RBIs. .364 - Vlad Guerrero at 8-for-22 with two RBIs. .333 - Luke Scott at 4-for-12. .278 - Matt Wieters at 5-for-18 with one home run and three RBIs. Several other Birds have struggled against these other birds with Robert Andino at 4-for-21, Adam Jones 4-for-24 and Nolan Reimold at 0-for-7.
