Roster for Japan All-Star Series, list of minor league free agents

Major League Baseball released its roster today for the "Japan All-Star Series 2014," and Orioles reliever Tommy Hunter is joined by 28 other players who will compete against Samurai Japan. The pitching staff includes Jeff Beliveau (Rays), Jerry Blevins (Nationals), Chris Capuano (Yankees), Randy Choate (Cardinals), Jeremy Guthrie (Royals), Hisashi Iwakuma (Mariners), Mark Melancon (Pirates), Franklin Morales (Rockies), Hector Santiago (Angels), Matt Shoemaker (Angels), Jose Veras (Astros), Tsuyoshi Wada (Cubs) and Rob Wooten (Brewers). The three catchers are Drew Butera (Dodgers), Erik Kratz (Royals) and Salvador Perez (Royals). Kratz just can't catch a break - or anything as long as he's behind Perez. All-Star Series games will be hosted in Osaka (Kyocera Dome), Tokyo (Tokyo Dome) and Sapporo (Sapporo Dome). Two exhibition games will complement the five-game series, with one game in Osaka (Koshien Stadium) and the other in Okinawa (Okinawa Cellular Stadium). MLB Network will televise every game live in the U.S., beginning with Tuesday's exhibition at 4 a.m. Baseball America released the complete list of minor league free agents, which includes pitchers Steve Johnson (St. Paul's), Oliver Drake (Navy) and Eddie Gamboa, infielders Buck Britton and Michael Almanzar and outfielder Francisco Peguero.
