Safe at third (updated)

The Orioles have tripled in four straight games, with Felix Pie producing the latest one tonight. Pie collected the Orioles' second hit, and we just completed the top of the fifth. Tigers starter Max Scherzer has been tying them in knots. Pie lined the ball into the right field corner with two outs in the fifth and motored into third base. He dived into the bag, stood up and pointed to the heavens. No injury. That's about as good as it gets for the Orioles, who are losing, 2-0, Josh Bell swung at the first pitch after Pie's triple and fouled out to third baseman Brandon Inge. Brad Bergesen gave up his third homer in two starts, to No. 9 hitter Danny Worth, after the Tigers manufactured a run in the first inning on Austin Jackson's leadoff double, Johnny Damon's sacrifice bunt and Magglio Ordonez's grounder to second. Instant update: Carlos Guillen's two-out single in the fifth scored Brennan Boesch, and Guillen raced home on Inge's double over Adam Jones' head. Bergesen got the first two outs before surrendering two more runs and forcing interim manager Juan Samuel to consider heating up his bullpen.
