Shawn Kelley and Koda Glover reinstated from disabled list

The Nationals announced that right-handed relievers Shawn Kelley and Koda Glover have been reinstated from the 10-day disabled list.

To make room for the two relievers, the club optioned left-hander Matt Grace and right-hander A.J. Cole to Triple-A Syracuse.

Kelley was happy to finally be done with the disabled list.

"Good, good. It was a long 12 or 13 days, whatever it was since I last pitched," Kelley said. "Glad that's over with and I can pitch."

Kelley said before the game was postponed that he could pitch tonight if called upon.

"Yeah, for sure," Kelley said. "I don't know if I can throw two or three innings, but I think that to go out there and do the job that I was doing before I got hurt and give it full intensity and not have to hold anything back or think anything about it, just let it go, yeah, I'm fully confident in that."

Glover, who had one solid inning of scoreless relief in a rehab assignment this week for Double-A Harrisburg, was understandably excited to rejoin the team.

"I'm pretty thrilled. I feel 100 percent right now," Glover said. "I have felt 100 percent for about a week now, but I think it's just precautionary. They're more worried about later than right now. So that's been my focus, is just trying to maintain that 100 percent and not have any drawbacks, and I haven't, so good to go."

Manager Dusty Baker said it's crucial for the Nats to get their eighth- and ninth-inning guys back healthy and available to pitch.

"Well, it's very important," Baker said. "And it's very important to them, because they were champing at the bit. And so we hope this time gave Koda and Kelley time to get back together. And now I can sort of put my bullpen back in the order we want to."
