Showalter on Ravens, and game update (Arrieta done for day)

The Orioles acknowledged the Ravens' Super Bowl victory with a video tribute during today's pregame ceremony. "I'm a big fan of them and the way they do things," manager Buck Showalter said during his session with the media. "I know Ozzie Newsome, being an Alabama guy. I got to spend some time with him. I liked to see how they did things, and I spent some time with coach Harbaugh and Ozzie, toured their facility. "The more you're around things like that, you see things don't happen just by chance. They know who they are and they put themselves in position to have success. And I'm real proud to be in a city that they're part of. The Ravens mean a lot to Baltimore. We've got a long way to go to get to that level of trust that the fans have in the Ravens." Showalter guided the Orioles to their first playoff berth in 15 years in 2012, so he's headed in the right direciton. Meanwhile, the Orioles are no longer staring at a deficit today. They scored twice in the bottom of the fifth to tie the game 4-4 and knock Liam Hendriks out of the game. Hendriks threw 96 pitches in 4 2/3 innings. Third base coach Bobby Dickerson had another aggressive send, waving home Nick Markakis from first on Adam Jones' one-out double to center field. The ball beat Markakis to the plate, but it scooted past catcher Ryan Doumit for an error. Jones advanced to third on the play and scored on Chris Davis' sacrifice fly. Davis has 12 RBIs in four games. Jake Arrieta retired the Twins in order in the top of the fifth, which he needed to do after running up his pitch count to 79 through the fourth. Update: Jake Arrieta put the first two runners on base in the sixth inning, left the game and was charged with another run, as the Twins look a 5-4 lead. Arrieta's final line: 5 innings, 7 hits, 5 runs, 2 walks, 5 strikeouts, 1 HBP. Arrieta threw 93 pitches, 61 for strikes. He struggled in the fourth, cruised in the fifth and put two on in the sixth without recording an out. Yes, it can be frustrating. Troy Patton replaced Arrieta and gave up Brian Dozier's RBI single.
