So how will the Orioles bounce back from that one?

Going into the bottom of the eighth last night, Troy Patton had allowed just one homer since May 28 and Wil Nieves had not homered in 126 at-bats all year. Of course, Nieves homered as Arizona took a 6-5 lead. But then, with a gritty rally, the Orioles tied it in the ninth. But Darren O'Day, who had not allowed an earned run in 41 of 53 appearances this year faced Adam Eaton, who had no homers this year in 76 at-bats. Eaton homered to win it. Of course he did. For those of you that couldn't stay up that late, what a wild, strange and at times stunning final few innings last night. It was a brutal loss for the Orioles, maybe the worst all year. Now we find out if they can bounce back, but what choice do they have? Some other notes from a wild night of baseball: * The Orioles bullpen had allowed just one run over 16 innings in the previous six games with no homers. Last night, the bullpen combined to pitch 2 2/3 frames, allowing five runs and two homers. Each of the four pitchers the O's used out of the pen - Brian Matusz, Tommy Hunter, Patton and O'Day - gave up at least one run. * O's pitching had given up three runs or less for six consecutive games, allowing 14 total runs, before giving up seven Monday at Arizona. * The O's continued to struggle against the Diamondbacks. They are now 3-10 all-time after going 1-2 in 2002 and 2004, 1-5 in 2007 and 0-1 in 2013. * In its last 12 games, Arizona has played eight times against the top three clubs in the AL East, going 5-3 against the Orioles, Tampa Bay and Boston. * Arizona is now 10-1 at home the last two years against the American League. * Adam Jones' nine-game hitting streak ended as he went 0-for-4. He was 17-for-36 during the streak. * Chris Davis hit his 43rd homer and he now has six extra-base hits in six games on this road trip with three doubles and three homers. After going a season-long 10 games without a homer, Davis has now hit three over his last five games and six over his past 12. So what do you expect to see out of the Orioles tonight as they try to bounce back from Monday's loss?
