New York starter CC Sabathia, who came off the disabled list earlier today, went just 4 2/3 innings, allowing four hits and three runs (one earned), and threw 85 pitches. Warren took the loss.

Jimenez entered with a career 6.60 ERA against the Yankees, but earned the win to go to 11-9 on the season with a 4.22 ERA. He retired 13 of the last 14 batters he faced.

On the farm: In the minor league playoffs tonight, Columbus beat Triple-A Norfolk 5-2 to take the opener of their best-of-five International League series at Norfolk's Harbor Park.
Losing pitcher Terry Doyle allowed eight hits and five runs over 4 2/3 innings while winner Ryan Merritt gave up seven hits and no runs over 6 2/3 innings. The Tides scored twice in the last of the ninth. Norfolk had 10 hits in the game but went 0-for-7 with runners in scoring position.
Double-A Bowie is leading 7-5 in the eighth at Altoona in its Eastern League playoff opener, the first game of a best-of-five series.
The Baysox used three errors and several keys hit to score seven runs in the second inning for its biggest inning of the year. That inning featured a two-run double by Glynn Davis and RBI singles by Ozzie Martinez, Mike Yastrzemski and Garabez Rosa. That gave Bowie a 7-0 lead, but an Altoona grand slam in the fifth made it a 7-5 lead.
