Taylor Hearn and Jake Johansen rehab updates; Carter Kieboom GCL debut

Left-hander Taylor Hearn rehabbed with the Gulf Coast League Nationals on Friday in their 7-3 11-inning win over the Gulf Coast League Mets.

Hearn is working his way back from a foot injury he suffered in mid-April. He tossed three innings, allowing no runs and one hit with four walks and two strikeouts. It was his first game since April 13.

Nationals top-selection infielder Carter Kieboom made his GCL Nats debut. Kieboom went 1-for-5 with a RBI. As the designated hitter, he had a single in his first at-bat and was hit by a pitch in the 11th that plated one of the four runs to help them win their GCL opener.

Also notable is an appearance by right-hander Jake Johansen. The 2013 second-rounder pitched an inning, allowing two hits and one earned run with three walks. He had been with high Single-A Potomac at the beginning of the season. This was his first rehab game with GCL Nats.

* Kevin Keyes hit a two-run shot in Double-A Harrisburg's 3-2 loss at New Hampshire. It was Keyes' fifth roundtripper of the season. Second baseman Chris Bostick was 2-for-4 and is now hitting .295.

Right-hander Greg Ross tossed seven scoreless innings, allowing six hits with two walks and three strikeouts. The 26-year-old hails from Baltimore, Md., and Frostburg State. He was a 2011 Braves selection in the 18th round. He is now 5-2 with a stunning 0.76 ERA in 14 games (eight starts).

Derek Self got tagged with the blown save and loss when he surrendered a two-run double to Jason Leblebijian as New Hampshire rallied for three runs in the bottom of the ninth. Self allowed a run on two hits with two walks.

Right-hander Reynaldo Lopez starts tonight for the Senators. He is 2-5 with a 3.56 ERA but has allowed one earned run in four of his last five starts with 46 strikeouts.
