The streak ended; so did Markakis' night

Jake Arrieta has completed six innings tonight and held the Rangers to one run. He just escaped a two-on, two-out jam by getting Taylor Teagarden to ground into a force. His pitch count is up to 95 and Matt Albers was warming, so it's going to be tough for him to produce the Orioles' fourth consecutive eight-inning start. Albers sat down, and Arrieta will return for the seventh. He'll need to be economical with his pitches. Update: Arrieta is done after 6 2/3 innings. Mark Hendrickson inherits another two-on, two-out jam. Arrieta threw 111 pitches. Update II: Josh Hamilton blooped an RBI single over Brian Roberts' head. The Orioles have two hits off Rangers left-hander C.J. Wilson, both coming from No. 2 hitter Julio Lugo. Nick Markakis struck out looking to end the sixth inning and was subsequently ejected by plate umpire Jeff Nelson, who one pitch earlier had called time to warn Markakis about questioning the two previous strike calls. Nelson walked away from Markakis, who continued to jaw at him before being tossed for the first time in his career. Markakis struck out looking in all three at-bats, and Nelson's strike zone appeared to get wider as the right fielder's patience grew thinner. Felix Pie has replaced Markakis in right. Down on the farm, Triple-A Norfolk left-hander Zach Britton has held Durham to one run and three hits over six innings, with one walk and six strikeouts.
