Tolleson optioned, Orioles lineup

The Orioles have optioned Steve Tolleson to Triple-A Norfolk to make room for reliever Matt Lindstrom, who's coming off the disabled list. Dana Eveland also has rejoined the team after flying to California for the birth of his son, Asher Perry. Tolleson was called into manager Buck Showalter's office shortly before the lineup was posted. He's not listed among the reserves, and he later confirmed the roster move, which leaves the team with a three-man bench. "It was a lot shorter meeting this time," said Tolleson, who's batting .220 with two homers and six RBIs in 17 games. "They needed to make room and there really wasn't much more said than that. They wanted me to go down and get some consistent at-bats and get back up here and help them in the second half. "As of now, I guess I'm the odd-man out again, but hopefully it won't be for too long." For the Orioles: Brian Roberts 2B J.J. Their lineup included rehabbing first baseman Tyler Townsend, who went 0-for-3, rehabbing right fielder Ronnie Welty, who went 1-for-4 with a double, and rehabbing catcher Michael Ohlman, who homered as the designated hitter. Ohlman injured his shoulder in a spring training accident and later was suspended 50 games for a second violation of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program for a drug of abuse. Catcher Taylor Teagarden is supposed to begin an injury-rehab assignment in the GCL. The GCL Red Sox's lineup today included left fielder Carl Crawford, who went 1-for-3 with a double.
