Updates on Solis, Purke and other injuries

Here are the latest updates on pitching prospects Sammy Solis (Tommy John) and Matt Purke (shoulder). Each are continuing to rehab in Florida and are making their mound progressions. These are rough estimates, but the Nationals are hoping for a mid-May return for Solis and a late May return for Purke. These estimates can change, depending on how both progress this month, but this gives us a general idea. There also was a good number of adjustments on every level because of injuries in the minors last week. Triple-A Syracuse center fielder Eury Perez has been placed on the disabled list with a sprained wrist. Outfielder Jerad Head was promoted from Double-A Harrisburg to the Chiefs. High Single-A Potomac outfielder Randolph Oduber has been promoted to Harrisburg. Infielder/outfielder Francisco Soriano has also been promoted to the Senators from the P-Nats. Infielder Blake Kelso has been placed on the disabled list. Justin Miller moves to Potomac from extended spring training. Khayyan Norfork moves from Hagerstown to Potomac. Wil Pwinica-Worms also goes from the Suns to Potomac. Hagerstown receives infielder Matt Foat from extended spring training. Infielder Hunter Bailey also gets the call from extended spring to join the Suns. First baseman Shawn Pleffner joins Hagerstown with first baseman Carlos Lopez placed on the seven-day disabled list. Hagerstown's J.R. Higley does appear to have a fracture in his foot and is continuing to be monitored after a fouling a ball of his foot in a game last week. Harrisburg's Matt Skole has the wrist injury and was awaiting a second opinion. There is no new information on this front, but the Nationals tell me we could have an update as early as Wednesday.
