Updating a few injuries

SARASOTA, Fla. - Tommy Hunter is scheduled to throw four innings Friday, but the location hasn't been determined. Hunter, who's no longer bothered by lower back soreness, will throw 60-65 pitches against the Twins in Fort Myers or in a minor league game at Twin Lakes Park. The smart money is Twin Lakes. No sense making Hunter travel that far. Hunter threw 42 pitches yesterday in a B game and said he felt good. "The ball was coming out, got a few on their hands," he said. "They weren't swinging early. It was 10 o'clock in the morning. It's going to be a little different next outing, definitely. I'll work on some of those cutters that didn't cut. But I felt good. I was able to hit spots, go in and out, come back and forth, got a strikeout on a changeup for the first time in six years. That was pretty fun, exciting. I smiled." Matt Lindstrom, who hasn't pitched since last Wednesday because of back spasms, threw off flat ground from 150 feet yesterday and will throw a bullpen session this morning. If it goes well, he'll pitch Wednesday or Thursday. "I'm doing a lot better," he said. "The medication they gave me actually knocked out the back spasms. I really responded well to the treatment. I'm looking forward to getting back out on the mound." Lindstrom blamed a "bad bed" for the spasms. He was fine Wednesday, woke up the next morning and couldn't bend over. So what did he do? He bought a new bed. "I got that situation corrected, too," he said. "I've been sleeping on it the last three nights and it's really helped, along with the medication. It's strange, Wednesday you feel good and Thursday you wake up and you can't bend over and touch your toes. It's just one of those things. But I'm looking forward to getting back out there. "If you can't bend over and touch your toes, the extension on your pitches isn't going to be as good as you want them to be. But like I said, I'm feeling a lot better now." Pitching coach Rick Adair said Darren O'Day "seems to be a little bit better" after being scratched from yesterday's game because of right groin tightness. Also, upon further review, I've been to Dunedin. That's where Koji Uehara limped off the mound with a hamstring injury. How could I forget?
