Voth struck out five in the first three innings, including Ronald Acuña Jr. twice and Freddie Freeman. The Braves have only one hit on 37 pitches, 27 for strikes.

In the bottom of the third, Adam Eaton singled to center field with one away. But Rendon grounded out and Juan Soto struck out to end the threat.

After three innings, the Nats lead the Braves 1-0.

Update: Nick Markakis delivered a run-scoring single to right field off Wander Suero in the sixth inning. Voth finished 5 2/3 innings, allowing one run on four hits on two walks (one intentional) and six strikeouts. He fired 80 pitches, 53 for strikes.

Mid-sixth, the Nats and the Braves are tied 1-1.

Update II: The Nats bullpen fell apart in the seventh. Suero walked the first two batters he faced. Pinch-hitter Charlie Culberson was hit in the face by a Fernando Rodney pitch while attempting to bunt and had to be taken off the field on a cart. He was able to walk to the cart under his own power. Adam Duvall finished the at-bat and struck out.

Acuña dropped in a two-run double and Ozzie Albies delivered an RBI single. Markakis finished the rally with another RBI single.

Mid-seventh, the Braves lead the Nats 5-1.

Update III: The Braves added to their lead in the eighth. Facing Erick Fedde, Dansby Swanson was walked and later scored on a throwing error by Robles. Rafael Ortega singled and came around to score on a sacrifice fly by Albies.

Mid-eighth, the Braves lead the Nats 7-1.

Update IV: Pinch-hitter Austin Riley added a two-run double and Dansby Swanson a run-scoring single off Fedde in the ninth.

Mid-ninth, the Barves lead the Nats 10-1.

Update V: Pinch-hitter Andrew Stevenson tripled in the ninth off of Braves reliever Josh Tomlin. Pinch-hitter Tres Barrera made his major league debut, lining out to Tomlin. Pinch-hitter Wilmer Difo grounded to first base to end the game.

Final score: Braves 10, Nats 1.
