What's next for J.J.?

Reliever Jim Johnson will continue his injury rehab assignment by pitching in back-to-back games for Double-A Bowie on Friday and Saturday. He'll work out the next two days and go back-to-back again with the Baysox on Aug. 24 and 25. Johnson, on the 60-day disabled list with a sore right elbow, is scheduled to throw one inning each on Friday and Saturday. Johnson has appeared in eight minor league games - four with the Gulf Coast League team, two with Single-A Frederick and one each with Triple-A Norfolk and Bowie. He's allowed four runs and 12 hits in nine innings, with one walk and seven strikeouts. The Orioles are being cautious with Johnson, believing that he's not ready to come off the DL. Also, David Hernandez has started to do some light throwing in Sarasota while recovering from a sprained left ankle. He won't be activated before rosters expand next month, and it would be extremely optimistic to look for him on Sept. 1. This injury will take a while to heal. I don't have any weather updates for you. The tarp's on the field. If the game is rained out, it won't be made up because Seattle doesn't return to Camden Yards. I don't think it'll have any playoff implications. Here's the Mariners lineup: Ichiro RF Figgins 2B Branyan DH Lopez 3B Gutierrez CF Kotchman 1B Moore C Tuiasosopo LF Wilson SS Pauley RHP
