Wieters on today's throwing session

HOUSTON - Orioles catcher Matt Wieters estimated that he made 25 throws today in the outfield at Minute Maid Park and came away encouraged by the condition of his right elbow. Wieters hadn't picked up a ball since going on the disabled list May 11. "It felt better," he said. "It's kind of just progress each day and see how it feels throwing, and then the next day, and we'll just keep progressing and see how it goes. "It definitely felt like I had some life back in it and it felt a lot more fresh. Of course, I haven't thrown for three weeks, so it's to be expected. But like I said, we'll just come each day with a fresh slate and see how it goes each day. "We're just going to keep trying to progress and see where it takes us." Wieters will use Saturday as a "rest day" and throw again on Sunday. "We'll get longer and everything will keep progressing more and more," he said, "and we'll see where we're at each day."
