Will Orioles regret missed opportunities? (O's lose 4-3)

The Orioles carried a a 3-2 lead into the bottom of the seventh inning at Rogers Centre, but Chris Tillman issued a four-pitch walk to Moises Sierra and Colby Rasmus hit a two-run homer. Tillman hadn't allowed any runs since the first inning. Now he trails the Blue Jays 4-3. Oh, those leadoff walks. And those two-out walks. Just the walks in general. Tillman has allowed 30 home runs in 30 starts this season. He's surrendered 71 in his career, including 50 solo shots. Rasmus homered on a changeup. Didn't he also do that last night? Fourteen of the Orioles' last 20 games have been decided by two runs or fewer. Why should today be any different? The Orioles are 5-9 in those games, including 2-5 in one-run affairs. Somehow, the Orioles continue to rank fifth in the majors with a .269 average with runners in scoring position, but missed opportunities could again be their downfall today. Nick Markakis and J.J. Hardy walked in the fourth and Matt Wieters singled to give the Orioles a 3-2 lead. Hardy raced to third with one out, but Danny Valencia and Brian Roberts struck out. Adam Jones doubled to lead off the sixth inning and took third with one out. Hardy reached on an error, but Wieters struck out. Hardy stole second, but Valencia grounded out. Brian Roberts singled to lead off the seventh, but Nate McLouth grounded into a double play. The Orioles are 2-for-10 with RISP and have stranded five. Update: Make it 2-for-11 with RISP and seven stranded. Markakis walked with two outs in the eighth and raced to third on Hardy's single into right field. Wieters struck out and another threat fizzled. Update II: Game over. Nate McLouth was stranded at first base after a two-out single in the ninth, and the Orioles lost 4-3 at Rogers Centre. The Orioles are 16-28 in one-run games. Fifteen of their last 21 games have been decided by two runs or fewer and they're 5-10. The Orioles could have gained ground on the Yankees and Rangers today. Tillman worked eight innings for the fifth time this season. He allowed four runs and six hits, with two walks, four strikeouts and a home run. He threw 101 pitches, 66 for strikes.
