Will the Orioles add a reliever for today's game? (updated)

The Orioles may need a bullpen arm for this afternoon's series finale against the Diamondbacks, which also concludes their three-city road trip. Miguel Gonzalez worked seven innings last night, but the game carried into the 11th before Paul Goldschmidt hit a walk-off home run off left-hander T.J. McFarland, who was making his first appearance since Aug. 3. Kevin Gausman is listed as tonight's starter for Triple-A Norfolk, but the Orioles could redirect him to Phoenix. The Tides are in Toledo, which is less than an hour from the Detroit airport. There's an early-morning non-stop flight. Though the Orioles are playing a 12:40 p.m. game today (Pacific Time), they would be able to bring in a reinforcement. Norfolk has been going with a six-man rotation, and it doesn't include Steve Johnson, who's currently working in a relief role. Finding a replacement for Gausman tonight wouldn't be challenging if the Orioles decided to recall him. The Orioles have an extra bench player with their pitchers batting under National League rules. They could option one of them to make room. The Diamondbacks are starting left-hander Patrick Corbin, who's 12-3 with a 2.33 ERA. A left-handed hitter could be removed from the 25-man roster. Henry Urrutia and Ryan Flaherty have options. It's mostly speculation at this point, but stay tuned. Taylor Teagarden will catch Chris Tillman today, according to manager Buck Showalter, who mentioned it on O's Xtra following the 11-inning loss. In Tillman's 10 road starts, he's gone 7-1 with a 2.97 ERA and six quality starts over 63 2/3 innings. He's never faced the Diamondbacks, but he's 8-1 with a 2.13 ERA in 11 career starts against the American League West and National League West. Aaron Hill has only two hits in 14 at-bats against Tillman - a double and home run. Corbin has allowed two earned runs or fewer in eight of his last 10 starts. He's never faced the Orioles. Steve Pearce is the only current Oriole who's batted against Corbin, going 1-for-3. Update: Gausman is being skipped a turn in Norfolk's rotation as the Orioles continue to monitor his innings. He's not starting tonight, but he's not headed to Phoenix. The guess here is that Johnson makes the start for Norfolk. He's available and has been stuck in the bullpen. Again, stay tuned. The Orioles seem content with their bullpen situation today.
