Gas up that mower and pull out those gardening gloves, O's fans. It's time for a little Yard Work!
On this week's episode, Steve and I talk about the Orioles' most recent homestand against the Tigers and Mariners. Where do the Orioles sit after taking three of four from Detroit and losing the three-game series to Seattle?
Also, we'll look back at reliever Darren O'Day's comments following Sunday's surprising loss to the Tigers in the series finale. O'Day was displeased with the umpiring during the game, particularly a check-swing call which kept the 8th inning alive, and ultimately led to back-to-back, come-from-behind home runs by the Tigers. Will O'Day get a call from the league office and be forced to pull out his checkbook?
Meanwhile, what's wrong with Ubaldo Jimenez? The only thing that seems to be consistent with the Orioles starter is his inconsistency and it could be time for a change of scenery for the right-hander.
As for the offense, slugger Mark Trumbo continues his hot start to the season, so much so fans are already clamoring for a contract extension. Is that a little premature? Steve and I will debate.
Speaking of Trumbo, he and Manny Machado have jumped out in front of the Orioles' team lead for home runs, but who will finish the season with more? Leave your choice below in the comments section and be sure to listen to this week's edition of Yard Work to hear all about the latest in Orioles baseball.
Note: The Yard Work podcast will be recorded each week; therefore, all Orioles records and statistics will be current at time of recording, but may be different when podcast is downloaded. Please don't hold that against us!
