NEW YORK - The Orioles lineup on Tuesday should include catcher Matt Wieters and shortstop J.J. Hardy.
Hardy is more of a certainty to play against the Yankees. He's ready to come off the disabled list today, but he must wait one more day.
Manager Buck Showalter said Hardy could have played today if eligible to return. He's doing full baseball activities and hasn't experienced any discomfort in his groin.
Outfielder Dariel Alvarez will rejoin the Orioles on Tuesday after being optioned to Single-A Frederick. Visa issues prohibited him from making the trip to Toronto.
Showalter said pitcher Tyler Wilson will make at least one more start at Triple-A Norfolk. He could rejoin the Orioles later this month.
Steve Johnson pitched to Steve Clevenger yesterday in Toronto, marking only the second time that Baltimore-born players have formed an all-Baltimore battery in Orioles history. The only other occurrence came on Sept. 21, 2013 when Johnson and Clevenger appeared together at Tampa Bay.
Clevenger is the only Baltimore-born catcher in club history.
The Orioles are now tied with the Dodgers for fewest errors in the majors with 58. The Astros are the closest American League team with 65.
The Yankees continue to list Wednesday night's starter as TBD, but it's expected to be left-hander CC Sabathia.
