A leftover from Game 1 and Game 2 (updated with new LA starter)

The next time you hear from me this morning, I'll be posting the lineups for the series finale between the Orioles and Los Angeles Dodgers at Camden Yards. The Orioles will be facing right-hander Chad Billingsley, and their exposure to him is limited. Nate McLouth is 5-for-16. J.J. Hardy is 2-for-10 with a home run. Chris Dickerson is 1-for-3 with a double. Alexi Casilla is 0-for-2 with a walk. McLouth figures to be in left field today. Reimold could serve as the designated hitter, assuming his hamstring allows it. Showalter removed Reimold for a pinch-runner in Game 1 after a tie-breaking two-run double in the eighth inning. The move raised speculation that Reimold's hammy had tightened. "I had plans to pinch-run for him anyway to get him off the field," Showalter said last night. "He ices it and does work on it every day. He has different degrees of it. He said he feels it now and then, but I don't think it's going to keep him from being a player (Sunday) if we so choose." Dickerson pinch-ran for Reimold, which leads me to the Game 2 leftover. Dickerson started in center field and went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts. However, he provided a moment that stuck with Showalter and most definitely earned him more points with the manager. In the fourth inning, Dickerson grounded back to the mound and reached first base on pitcher Josh Beckett's throwing error. He hustled all the way, which didn't escape Showalter. "Chris Dickerson running out a slow ground ball right back to the pitcher, that's something that will help my sleep habits," Showalter said. "That was about as cool as anything that happened tonight for me, other than the celebration of Earl (Weaver)." Yes, the Orioles swept a doubleheader from the Dodgers, and Showalter clung to the image of Dickerson running out a ground ball to the mound. Sometimes, it's the seemingly little things that matter. Update: The Dodgers placed Billingsley on the 15-day disabled list this morning with right pain and recalled right-hander Stephen Fife from Triple-A Albuquerque to start in his place. Fife was 1-1 with a 4.61 ERA in three starts at Albuquerque.
