A few pregame notes while waiting for the lineups

The Orioles are looking for their 22nd series win this year and their 10th on the road. They're 20-17 in series finales, including 3-3 since the All-Star break. A win today would mark the team's first back-to-back road series victories since May (3-1 in Anaheim on May 2-5 and 2-1 in Minnesota on May 10-12. Center fielder Adam Jones will try to extend his hitting streak to nine games this afternoon, which would tie his season high. Jones is batting .484 (15-for-31) during his streak, with three doubles, a home run, seven RBIs and seven runs scored. Shortstop J.J. Hardy has hit safely in seven straight games, batting .296 (8-for-27) with two home runs, four RBIs and four runs scored. First baseman Chris Davis is the first Oriole with at least 40 extra-base hits on the road in a season since Miguel Tejada in 2005. Bud Norris is making his third start for the Orioles. According to STATS, he ranks fifth in the American League with a .188 (13-for-69) opponents' average with runners in scoring position since June 1. Norris has worked at least five innings in all but one start in 2013 and has limited his opponents to three earned runs or fewer in 18 of his 23 starts. He's made 15 quality starts, and 14 of his last 18. Norris is a career .142 hitter, going 24-for-169 with five doubles and 10 RBIs.
