Steve Johnson pitched well in his season debut for Triple-A Norfolk yesterday, getting the win in game two of a doubleheader against Charlotte. He gave up just one run and three hits over five innings and Jamie Hoffman hit a two-run homer. The Tides are batting .190 as a team through three games. Outfielder John Ruettiger, the Orioles eighth-round pick last year out of Arizona State, is off to a fast start with Delmarva. He is 5-for-10 with four runs, four walks and is 4-for-4 in stolen base attempts. He has reached base nine times in the season's first three games with an OBP of .643.
