Can Scott Feldman pitch for the Orioles like he did for the Cubs this year? (Seabrooke update)

It is a big if, but if Scott Feldman pitches for the Orioles at the same level that he pitched for the Cubs this season, he could become one of the best starting pitchers on the O's staff. Here is where he ranks this year against the other O's starters in 2013. That ERA would rank second among O's starters behind only Chen's 3.04. Tonight, the Orioles face the White Sox for the second time this year and so does Feldman. He was the winning pitcher on May 29 for the Cubs against the Sox, allowing six hits and two runs in six innings. With the Cubs, Feldman went 2-0 with an ERA of 1.89 in three starts this season against AL clubs. His last start was Wednesday, so he is pitching on six days' rest tonight and he has actually not been very good when pitching on six days' rest in his career, going 5-7 with a 5.93 ERA over 18 starts. I know this - no matter how well or how poorly Feldman pitches tonight, there will be some reactions that he is either the answer to the rotation's issues or he is terrible. We all should probably give him at least a few starts to settle in. But it doesn't keep you from expressing an opinion on how tonight will go for him, so what do you think? Update on fifth-round pick: Left-handed pitcher Travis Seabrooke, drafted by the Orioles in the fifth round out of Crestwood Secondary School in Ontario, Canada, should be reporting to the O's facility in Sarasota, Fla., this weekend or mid-next week at the latest. There was a slight delay in his reporting. As a Canadian native, he needed a work visa and the O's are in the process of getting that completed. Seabrooke, who will not turn 18 until Sept. 16, is said to have a fastball in the 90 mph range along with a curveball and changeup. He was ranked by Baseball America as the No. 441 player in the draft. Seabrooke's father, Glen, played for the Philadelphia Flyers in the mid 1980s.
