NEW YORK - The Orioles have dropped six of their last 11 series. They get another chance beginning tonight at Yankee Stadium.
Since the start of 2012 , the Orioles have gone 16-14 against the Yankees during the regular season.
Taylor Teagarden is starting behind the plate tonight because the Orioles have a day game on Saturday and Matt Wieters is 7-for-40 lifetime against Yankees left-hander CC Sabathia.
Alexi Casilla is starting at second base because he's 16-for-30 vs. Sabathia.
Wieters, Brian Roberts, Wilson Betemit and Steve Pearce are the reserves. Michael Morse isn't on the lineup card.
Manny Machado leads the majors with 45 doubles, two shy of Vada Pinson for second-most by a player in age-20 or younger season. Alex Rodriguez had 54 in 1996.
Machado is on pace for 55 doubles, which would be one shy of Brian Roberts' club record set in 2009.
Chris Davis has 323 total bases after doubling Thursday, which is tied for 14th-most in a season in club history. He's on pace for 396. The club record is 369 set by Brady Anderson in 1996.
