Could Nationals prospect Tyler Moore be called up before September?

Much has been made of when Bryce Harper will be called up to the majors. But what about Tyler Moore? Just this week, the career first baseman got his first taste of playing left field. He made one catch with no problems. Triple-A Syracuse manager Tony Beasley said they will get Moore more playing time in the outfield. Tuesday he was back at first base. He has played 425 games at first base and now one in left field. But Moore has been scorching the ball. The last 10 games, Moore is batting .351 with five homers and 11 RBIs. His season average is .289 with a .644 slugging percentage, while his on base-plus-slugging stands at a stunning career-best .997. So that's a lofty franchise-best 56 homers in the past 206 games. That is one homer every four games. Harper could still get to the Nationals before the 25-year-old Moore does, but seeing Moore play the outfield shows the franchise is looking at all their options. And the Nationals' outfield right now could use some offense. Mark DeRosa, Roger Bernandina and Xavier Nady have not hit their stride just yet. Michael Morse is out at least a month with a left lat injury. Morse is only able to conduct light workouts and running with no baseball related activities. If the veterans continue to struggle and Moore continues to punish the ball, chances of getting to the Nationals prior to the September call-ups seems a distinct possibility. How about Tyler Moore in left, 19-year-old Bryce Harper in center, and veteran Jayson Werth in right? That could be the "Big Three" in the outfield for years to come. The reality of that lineup is clearer with each successive moon shot from Moore.
