The last series of the 2009 season is filled with promos and giveaways for fans who come out to the Yard for the last three games of O's baseball this weekend.
So no matter how many games you've already attended, no matter the weather (the forecast is 70s and sunny though!), and no matter how packed your schedule is this time of year, see if you can make it out for one more game at Oriole Park this season--With all these giveaways and promotions, you're not likely to leave the ballpark disappointed.
Go Outback Tonight...
All three games this weekend will feature Outback Steakhouse scratch-off style gift cards for all fans as they enter the gates. Fans can scratch their cards to discover which of the $300,000 worth of offers and free items they'll be taking home as a thank you for supporting the Birds this season.
Take the Shirts Off Their Backs....
Throughout the weekend, fans will be randomly chosen to go on the field before the game to receive the shirt right off an Oriole player's back--well, maybe not literally, but fans will be presented with a game-worn and autographed jersey from and Orioles player.
Take the Field O's Fans...
A handful of lucky fans will be selected to take the field with an Orioles player for the National Anthem before each game this weekend. Following the Anthem, these fans will receive a baseball signed by the player they stood with on the field.
Think you're the biggest O's fan of all time (Or at least the game)?
Also at all three games this weekend, the O's will select a fan who demonstrates true Orioles spirit to be named Fan of the Game. Go all-out and prove you're the biggest O's fan at the game on Friday, and you'll win a 13-game season ticket plan for next season; on Saturday the Fan of the Game will take home a 29-game season ticket plan for next year; and on Sunday, the last Fan of the Game winner of the '09 season will receive a full season ticket plan for 2010!
Strike One!
Prior to each game, one fan will be randomly selected to throw out the ceremonial first pitch to kick off that day's game. On Saturday, head to the Oktoberfest celebration in the Bullpen Picnic Area, as Saturday's pregame pitcher will be selected from this section of the crowd.
SOLD to the gentleman in the Orioles cap!
So there won't actually be an auctioneer shouting out bids on the concourse, but a silent auction can be just as much fun or more. The O's will hold a silent auction on the main concourse at Gate D from the time the gates open until 8:30 p.m. during each game this weekend. You'll have the chance to bid on sports memorabilia, collectibles, unique experience packages, and O's grab bags that feature a ball signed by a current or former Oriole and a chance of receiving a ball signed by Cal Ripken Jr. or Brooks Robinson! Proceeds from the auction will benefit the Baltimore Orioles Charitable Foundation.
A winner every inning (And we're not talking a one-size-fits-all ballcap!)
The final promo to enliven each game of the weekend involves more than merely three giveaways. Instead, the Orioles will select one seat location every inning, toss it up on the scoreboard, and top it off by giving that lucky fan a prize. Winners should take their tickets to Fan Assistance to claim their prizes, which include Southwest Airlines flight vouchers, 2010 Opening Day tickets, 2009 Orioles team signed balls and bats, private ballpark tours, Orioles prize packs including a $50 MLB gift card and more.
Still not enough to get you to a game this weekend?
Following Friday's game, fans will be treated to one of the always impressive fireworks displays at Camden Yards, and the first 10,000 fans ages 21 and older to enter the ballpark for Saturday's game will receive an Orioles Oktoberfest Tankard courtesy of Guinness.
So bring a bag to take home all of the giveaways and auction items you can carry and enjoy the last weekend of Orioles baseball at the Yard this season!
