It's a disgustingly hot and muggy day here in Miami - wait, this is Washington? Could've fooled me. Step outside, close your eyes and you won't be able to tell the difference. Promise. So much for a September cool down.
Anyway, the Nationals and Cardinals return to action tonight after Monday's 10-inning thriller, the Nats looking to win two straight and get over the .500 mark. They'll do so with Erick Fedde on the mound for the first time in two months. Fedde, who last pitched July 4 against the Red Sox, has been on the 60-day disabled list since with right shoulder inflammation. He made three rehab starts, though, so he's ready to go.
Fedde will be working with Pedro Severino, who makes his second straight start behind the plate. Matt Wieters continues to be bothered by a groin injury. It wasn't bad enough to keep him from entering Monday's game late, but the Nationals are trying to avoid using him right now if possible.
