Game 32 lineups: Tigers at Nationals

The Nationals return home after a grueling 10-game road trip to play host to the Detroit Tigers.

A 5-5 road trip is certainly good for that much time away, but stings a bit after the team arrived in Chicago after a 5-1 trek through St. Louis and Kansas City.

The Cubs swept the series thanks to a 4-3 13-inning win over the Nationals Sunday.

And for the first time this season, the Nationals are looking up to the Mets in the National League East standings, trailing New York by a half-game.

The Tigers have sputtered a bit the last week, losing six straight.

strasburg-throws-white.jpgTonight's pitching matchup features Stephen Strasburg (5-0, 2.36 ERA) against right-hander Anibal Sanchez (3-3, 5.87 ERA).

Sanchez is an astounding 9-1 with a 1.98 ERA in 21 career starts against the Nationals. Among active pitchers, that 1.98 ERA against the Nationals ranks as second-best overall.

One wrinkle in tonight's lineup: Ben Revere is starting in left field for the first time this season, with Michael A. Taylor playing center field. One possible reason is that Jayson Werth has a lifetime .182 average (6-for-33) against Sanchez.
