Game 82 lineups: Nats at Phillies

PHILADELPHIA - As is the case across much of the country today, it is blazing hot here in Philly. Temperatures are expected to approach triple digits this afternoon, making for quite an uncomfortable setting at Citizens Bank Park as the Nationals wrap up their four-game series with the Phillies and try to get July off to a positive start after a bad June.

Soto-HR-Swing-Gray-Sidebar.jpgThere are some interesting nuggets in today's lineup. Bryce Harper and Juan Soto have essentially swapped swaps, with Soto batting third and Harper fifth for the first time this season. Also, Daniel Murphy (who last night was available only as an emergency pinch-hitter) is starting at second base and batting sixth. Will be curious to find out what changed in the last 12 hours there.

That lineup will face Jake Arrieta, who of course was available over the winter and wound up signing a three-year, $75 million deal with the Phillies and enters today's game 5-6 with a 3.54 ERA and 1.274 WHIP. Gio Gonzalez starts for the Nationals, really hoping to put his disaster at Tampa Bay behind him and help lead his team to a 1-0 record in July.
