Recap: It was a quiet day for the Nationals offense, which managed just three hits against Marlins pitching. In fact, the Nats didn't have a runner reach second base until Michael A. Taylor's leadoff triple in the sixth inning. Gio Gonzalez allowed four runs on four hits with two walks and two strikeouts in 2 2/3 innings.
Need to know: There were some encouraging signs from the Nats bullpen, which didn't allow a Marlins run or hit after the third inning. Craig Stammen pitched two scoreless innings with one strikeout after looking shaky in previous outings this spring.

Recap: Tanner Roark gave up four runs on four hits with one walk and one strikeout in 2 2/3 innings. Mets third baseman David Wright tagged Roark for a three-run homer in the third inning. The Mets added four more runs off Nats relievers Taylor Hill and Rich Hill, and Blake Lively gave up four runs in 2/3 of an inning. The Nats were finally able to get on the board in the seventh on Sandy Leon's two-run single. Ian Stewart hit a mammoth two-run homer to right in the ninth.
Need to know: Tony Gwynn Jr. continues to swing a hot bat this spring. Leading off and playing left field today, Gwynn went 2-for-4 to run his average to .444 (8-for-18).

VIERA, Fla. - Gio Gonzalez got off to a rough start, surrendering hits to the first three Marlins, including a double off the bat of Marcell Ozuna that scored two. The lefty was able to settle down until the third, when Ozuna got him again with a single, making it 3-0. Gonzalez's day was done after walking Jeff Baker, but the damage wasn't.
Left-hander Matt Thornton came in and gave up a single to Donovan Solano, scoring Baker. Gonzalez was charged with the run sending his final line to four earned runs on five hits with two walks and two strikeouts in 2 2/3 innings. He threw 52 pitches, 35 for strikes.
It's been a quiet day for the Nationals offense, with only three hits through six innings. Michael A. Taylor did lead off the sixth with a triple.
The Marlins lead the Nats 4-0 in the seventh.
Down in Port St. Lucie, Tanner Roark gave up a three-run homer to David Wright in the third inning. Overall, Roark gave up four runs on four hits and one walk. Not much happening with the bats, as the Nats have only managed two hits. The Mets lead 5-0 in the sixth.
