Hall outrighted to Norfolk, and other notes (one more)

Bill Hall cleared waivers and has been outrighted to Triple-A Norfolk. The Orioles designated Hall for assignment yesterday to make room for reliever Stu Pomeranz. Orioles manager Buck Showalter is conferring with Brian Roberts to firm up the second baseman's rehab schedule. Roberts will work out at Camden Yards today and play at Double-A Bowie tomorrow and Monday. He'll report to Single-A Delmarva for games on Tuesday and Wednesday. The rest of the schedule hasn't been set, but Roberts tentatively is slated to report back to Bowie next weekend. He also is expected to play for Single-A Frederick before finishing his assignment with Norfolk, which will be in Buffalo. The Orioles would like Roberts, whose 20-day assignment ends on June 11, to face the highest level of minor league competition before possibly coming off the disabled list. Roberts has started at second base in all three games with the Baysox. Showalter watched him play once and has received positive reports. "He's starting to get his clock back," Showalter said. Roberts is expected to get three at-bats Sunday and will get four Wednesday at Delmarva. Endy Chavez will bat leadoff for Bowie tonight, and Mark Reynolds will hit third or fourth. Jason Hammel felt good today after going six innings last night. No real issues with his right knee. "There are less residual effects each time out," Showalter said. "He's just a little sore." I forgot to mention that Dontrelle Willis is pitching as a starter down at extended spring training. He wanted no part of bullpen life, and the Orioles agreed to work him out as a starter.
