Harrisburg gives up late lead, falls 5-4 at Trenton

Double-A Harrisburg lost to the Trenton Thunder 5-4 on Wednesday night in Game 2 of the Eastern League Championship Series from Trenton, N.J. The Thunder now lead the best-of-five series, two games to none. Jeff Howell's sacrifice fly scored Carlos Rivero to give the Senators a 4-3 lead in the sixth inning. But Trenton came back with two runs in the seventh. Reegie Corona had an RBI single and Ali Castillo provided the go-ahead run with a RBI groundout. Trenton led 5-4. Senators starter A.J. Cole went four innings, allowing eight hits, but only one run, with one walk with one strikeout. Richie Mirowski blew the save opportunity for the Senators. He tagged for two runs in 1 2/3 innings, surrendering two hits, two walks and striking out two. Jerad Head went 2-for-4 with two RBIs. The Senators went 2-for-10 with runners in scoring position and left eight men on base. Harrisburg relinquished 2-1 and 4-3 leads. Game 3 is in Harrisburg on Thursday night. Senators right-hander Nathan Karns (1-0) takes on right-hander Shane Greene (1-0). Games 4 and 5 will also be in Harrisburg - on Friday and Saturday, if necessary.
