In Bowie, Dylan Bundy provides an update on his MRI today

BOWIE, Md. - Orioles top pitching prospect Dylan Bundy had an MRI this morning in Baltimore that found inflammation, but no structural damage, in his right shoulder.

Bundy said he will rest for a week and then have a follow-up MRI. Why does he need a second MRI?

bundy-throwing-sidebar.jpg"Just to re-check it in case the inflammation covered up some other stuff," he told MASNsports.com this afternoon outside the Bowie clubhouse.

"Had the MRI at seven this morning. There is inflammation in the shoulder, so we are going to get on anti-inflammatories. Rest if for a week and then kind of re-visit it and maybe take another MRI and see what it says, just to be safe."

Bundy felt something he didn't like in his right shoulder the day after his last start, last Thursday when he pitched four scoreless innings at Trenton.

"It is still tight and they said there is quite a bit of inflammation in there. So we'll let it die down. No throwing for about five or six days and then we will revisit the subject," Bundy said.

As for tonight's game here, Bud Norris is set to make his second rehab start and pitch tonight for Bowie against Erie here at 6:35 p.m. Norris is scheduled to throw about six or seven innings.

Check back here later for updates tonight from Bowie.
